Combust or Aast Planets

Planets which lose some of their power due to their presence in close proximity of Sun are termed as combust planets in Vedic Astrology or 'Aast Grahas' in Jyotish. Planets which are not combust or 'Aast' are termed as 'Udit Grahas'.

Note: -
(i) Sun or Surya can never be combust or 'Aast'.
(ii) Rahu & Ketu are always considered to be combust or 'Aast' not because they are always close to Sun but because they don't have any physical existence.
