Vedic Astrology Software by Dr.A.S.Kalra Astrologer
Know about Astrology Software developed by Dr.A.S.Kalra in 'C' language on MS-DOS platform: -
Dr.A.S.Kalra astrologer possesses exceptional skills in software programming and has developed his own software called ASTROSOFT. This software enables astronomical as well as astrological calculations and has garnered recognition in the field. In fact, he was awarded the first prize in the 'Utility Software Category' of the 'Software Programming Section' by the prestigious Indian Institute of Technology - Roorkee (IIT-Roorkee) during the 46th 'All India Techno Exhibition' (Srishti '05) held from March 4th to 6th, 2005. This event was organized by IIT-Roorkee, and the software was also given the name ASTROCHART.During that time, Dr. Kalra's 'Vedic Astrology Centre' was referred to as the 'Centre for Vedic Astrology and Alternative Medicines (CVAAM)'. The council conducting the event had esteemed individuals such as Professor Dr. Satya Prakash from IIT-Roorkee serving as the Chief Advisor, Mr. Manoj Misra as the Staff Advisor, and Mr. Ashvani Kumar as the Council Secretary. The chief guest at the function, who awarded the prizes, was Sh. V.K. Mathur, the director of the 'Central Building Research Institute - Roorkee'.
To ensure authenticity, a copy of the source code of the software was submitted to IIT-Roorkee and rigorously tested by their professors. Famous astrologer in India Dr.A.S.Kalra also underwent a separate interview with the professors to ascertain the software's credibility and the authenticity of its source code. Interested parties can verify these details directly from the official website of IIT-Roorkee, which can be accessed at www.iitr.ac.in.
Dr.A.S.Kalra has developed this astrology software using the 'C' language, specifically designed as an MS-DOS based program. Distinguishing itself from other astrology softwares available in the market, this software excels in conducting thorough technical analysis of horoscopes, making it highly valuable for predictive astrologers.
The software offers comprehensive insights into various aspects, such as identifying 'Aast' (Combust) planets, 'Uchcha' (Exalted) planets, 'Neech' (Debilitated) planets, 'Svarashi' (planets in their own signs), 'Dikbali' (planets with extra strength in specific directions), 'Nishphali' (planets that have diminished power due to their placement in certain houses), planetary zodiac exchanges, and 'Sandhigat' (planets present on the boundary of two zodiac signs).
Additionally, it provides the traditional features of displaying Birthchart, Moonchart, other charts, and the 'Vinshottari Mahadasha-Antardasha' progression of the 'Grahas' (planets).
According to him while any astrology software can perform accurate calculations, it falls short in analyzing a person's horoscope from multiple perspectives and making predictions. These nuanced interpretations and predictions can only be accomplished by learned astrologers or horoscope readers who utilize their knowledge, experience, intelligence, and intuition.
Overall, Dr. A.S. Kalra's astrology software stands out for its comprehensive technical analysis capabilities, making it an invaluable tool for astrologers seeking deep insights into horoscopes.
He dedicated over three months of hard work to develop the Astrology software in 2003. The primary reference book used for programming this software was 'Panchang Ganitam,' which was edited and explained by the late Pandit Kalyan Datt Sharma. Pandit Sharma was affiliated with the esteemed "Shri Lal Bahadur Shastri Rashtriya Sanskrit Vidyapeeth" located in Qutab Institutional Area, Katwaria Sarai, New Delhi.
Regarding "Panchang Ganitam" book: -

'Panchang Ganitam' is derived from the original work titled "Vaijyanti Naam Panchang Ganit" written by Mr. Vyankatesh Ketkar in Marathi language. The translation into Hindi was done by Dr. Devi Prasad Tripathi, who is also associated with "Shri Lal Bahadur Shastri Rashtriya Sanskrit Vidyapeeth" in New Delhi.
The publication of 'Panchang Ganitam' is credited to the "Sri Ved Mata Gayatri Trust (Shantikunj Ashram)" in Haridwar. For more information, the official website of Shantikunj Ashram, Haridwar, or the "All World Gayatri Pariwar" can be visited at www.awgp.org. Additionally, the official website of "Shri Lal Bahadur Shastri Rashtriya Sanskrit Vidyapeeth" is www.slbsrsv.ac.in.
Deciphering Panchang Ganitam proved to be a challenging task for Dr. Kalra due to its complex nature. Written in pure Hindi (Devanagari script) with numerous embedded Sanskrit words, the text posed a cryptic puzzle. However, best astrologer in India - Dr.A.S.Kalra persisted, determined to unravel its meaning, and eventually succeeded. During his exploration, he even discovered an error in the first edition of the book published in 2002.
The mistake involved an equation concerning Jupiter's 'Manda Phal,' which was missing from pages 86 and 87. To rectify this, Dr. Kalra promptly contacted Shantikunj Ashram in Haridwar via telephone. Coincidentally, it happened that Pandit Kalyan Datt Sharma was temporarily residing there at the time. Without delay, top rated astrologer in India, Dr. Kalra, journeyed to Shantikunj Ashram, accompanied by Mr. Ram Sahay Shukla, a member of the ashram, on July 3rd, 2003. He personally met Pandit Kalyan Datt Sharma and brought the mistake to his attention.
Pandit ji referred to the Hindi translation of "Vaijyanti Naam Panchang Ganit" and promptly provided Dr. Kalra with the missing equation. He also assured Dr. Kalra that the corrected equation would be included in the next edition of the book. Sadly, Pandit ji passed away on October 5th, 2009, in Jaipur, Rajasthan, at the age of 90, leaving behind a remarkable legacy.
