Isht kaal in Jyotish or Astrology: -
Time interval from Sun rise to the time of birth of an individual is termed as Ishtkaal in Indian Vedic Astrology or Jyotish.
Example (1): -
If a person is born at 11am some day & sun rise took place at 6am in his area that day then ishtkaal will be: - 11am - 6am = 5 hours
Example (2): -
If a person is born at 3pm some day & sun rise took place at 5:30am in his area that day then isht kaal will be: - (12 - 5:30am) + 3pm = 9 hours & 30 minutes
Example (3): -
If a person is born at 2am some day & sun rise took place at 6am in his area previous day then ishtkal will be: - (12 - 6am) + 12 + 2am = 20 hours
