Dasha sequence or order in Astrology or Jyotish: -
......Surya, Chandra, Mangal, Rahu, Guru, Shani, Budh, Ketu, Shukra, Surya, Chandra......Not necessarily it will be the mahadasha of Surya at the time of birth but in actual Mahadasha of any planet can come at the time of birth, depending upon the Nakshatra in which the Chandra was transitting at the time of birth of the person concerned. Mahadasha of lord planet of that nakshatra will come first in life.
In Indian Vedic astrology, Graha Dashas, also known as planetary periods, are a system of timing techniques used to analyze the effects of planetary influences on an individual's life. Each Graha (planet) is assigned a specific period or duration of time during which its influence is said to be prominent.
The sequence of Graha Dashas in Vedic astrology is as follows:
Sun (Surya)
Moon (Chandra)
Mars (Mangal)
Rahu (North Node of the Moon)
Jupiter (Guru/Brihaspati)
Saturn (Shani)
Mercury (Budha)
Ketu (South Node of the Moon)
Venus (Shukra)
The above sequence represents the traditional order of the Graha Dashas, starting with the Sun and concluding with Venus. Each Graha Dasha is further divided into sub-periods called Bhukti or Antardasha, which provide more specific timings and influences within the overall Dasha period.
The duration of each Graha Dasha can vary depending on the system used for calculation. The most commonly used method is the Vimshottari Dasha system, which assigns specific time periods to each Graha based on the Moon's position at the time of birth. In the Vimshottari Dasha system, the total period is 120 years, with each Graha having a specific number of years allocated to it.
